ID Rock Oil 124 is a moderately refined mineral oil with a flash point of 325°F. While clear, it is not food-grade, and that’s on purpose. In order to meet food-grade certification, more refining is required. The result is almost zero properties remain for drawing heat from the blade/rock contact point. Also, no anti-particulate suspension is required as an edible product. Finally, lubricity properties are minimalized - or virtually everything necessary for an excellent rock cutting oil. If you factor in the more than adequate viscosity for providing smooth surface contact tension, ID Rock Oil 124 will definitely satisfy both the beginner and experienced rock cutter alike.
